This Saturday:
Coffee, Hot Cider and Cookies during the Burlington Christmas Parade
Saturday, Nov. 21st from 9:30am at Company Shops Market

Join us for Coffee, Hot Cider and Cookies during the Burlington Christmas Parade this Saturday. The parade starts at 10am. This is a low key event. We'll be there starting at 9:30 AM. Come on inside to warm up with some hot beverages, Christmas cookies and holiday cheer. Can you bring cookies too? Yes of course, please feel free to bring holiday goodies to share!

So far it looks like the day is going to be excellent for a parade.

Board member and sustainability evangelist Eric Henry says: "Don't forget to bring your coffee mugs." We will have plenty of paper cups on hand but isn't it more fun to hold a warm ceramic mug or take your coffee to go in a travel mug? We think so too. Plus it's the 'Green' thing to do.

We hope to see you there!

Community Investment Notes

The skinny (why we want you as an investor):

Why a loan to the co-op?

  • Community investment notes will assist with and complement traditional bank financing by affirming the commitment of our owners and our community.

  • Our notes will pay you up to 5%, which not only keeps the interest within our community, but reduces the amount of interest paid to finance the construction and up-fit.

  • The proceeds of your loans will remain segregated from general start-up operating funds and will not be utilized until such time that the board determines it is feasible to move forward with renovation and upfit

How can YOU help with
the financing of the construction
and upfit of our market?

A community investment note
– a loan from you to the co-op!

Go to the investment page of our website for more information, including the Prospectus, or if you would like a packet mailed to you, please email Sharon Dent at contact@companyshopsmarket.coop

Invest in your market . . . your community . . . and yourselves!

Volunteer Shout Out:

Company Shops Market thanks the following for a great time @ Novemberfest

Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the party. With over 500 attendees, it was literally and figuratively a huge success. As you can probably guess, it takes quite a bit of work to pull off an event of this size and scope. Luckily we had a lot of help. As board president Sharon Dent likes to say, "it takes a village."

Special Thanks to:

Liz Ross & Band, SOS, and Todd Sines for the audio setup and great live music.

Red Oak Brewery, Cane Creek Farm, 9th St Bakery, G3 Sauce, Satisfy Your Soul, Counter Culture Coffee, Zack’s and Redbud Farm for the great local food.

TS Designs, Saxapahaw General Store, Danny’s Cafe,  and Bella’s House for volunteering the use of their chairs, ovens, cookers, lights, and more.

Burlington Police for making sure everyone at the event was safe and secure.

Meredith Gulley for the lovely video.

Volunteers Eliza Sydnor, Charles Sydnor, and Ross Flynn for preparing the brats and burgers.

Volunteers Eric Michel of TS Designs, JT Sharpe of J&L Bicycle, Nate Perry, Sharon Dent, Sarah Cook, Robin Showerman & Family of Bella's House, Rusty Holt, Sam Moore, Tom Sineath, Megan Squire, Tony Crider, Matt Heidel, Eric Henry, Bob Hykes, Patrick Harmon, Caroline Ansbacher, Jan Henry, Jack Martin, Kevin Helsey for working behind the scenes to build stages, create rolling partitions, decorate, clean, set-up, run errands, and for handling the many small details that make an event like this run smoothly.

We know there are many others ………………if you got left out please let us know so we can add your name to the list.
