Calling Local Farmers! The
Company Shops Market Is On Its Way
Burlington, NC – Company Shops Market in
Burlington, a full-service cooperative grocer opening this spring,
is looking for local! On Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 7 pm, Company
Shops will hold a meeting for local farmers and producers at the
Alamance County Agricultural Extension office at 209 N.
Graham-Hopedale Rd. in Burlington (directions).
Company Shops is fortunate to be in a state with a wealth of
agricultural products including meats, produce, eggs, cheese, milk,
ice cream, honey, jams, baked goods, condiments, body care products
and more! CSM is eager to feature these local, sustainable, and
organically produced items.
“Company Shops Market is committed to helping build a healthy
community. We believe having close relationships with area growers
and local producers is key to that goal,” said Chris Bartlett, the
CSM General Manager.
A Producer Relations Committee has been formed with Mark Danieley,
Alamance County Horticultural Cooperative Extension Agent, as chair
of the committee. The local producers meeting with offer a chance
for local farmers and producers to meet the CSM staff, and to hear
an explanation of the CSM local purchasing policy and farm visit
protocol.
